“avex WORLD AUDITION 2008”, the biggest worldwide audition is here at last.
avex group has conducted several auditions in the past and has discovered many of today’s forefront artists. This year, they are using their energy and efforts to their full potential in order to conduct the grand “avex WORLD AUDITION 2008.” Let’s hear more about this audition from avex Planning&Development inc., representative director, Mr. Aoki.

Q: First lets hear about how it came about, its purpose and goals.
“In the entertainment industry, we don’t yet have stars in the international scene such as Japanese baseball players like Ichiro and Matsui. Starting with J-pop and dance music, our company has led the music industry of Japan, and we feel that it is time to broaden the entertainment industry into the world class arena. With this audition,we are hoping to discover and help develop an international star.So in other words, the Japanese entertainment industry is approaching a new era.
Q:What kind of talent will be recruited for this audition?
“The audition has five categories; singer, actor/actress, fashion model, dancer, and composer. The grand prize winner in each category will be arranged a contract with Avex Entertainment Inc., a CD debut, as well as backup and promotion in various other fields in order to actively participate and succeed in the international scene. We are hoping to provide people with the chance of a lifetime!
Q: What would you say was special about the Japanese entertainment industry?
“The harsh reality of this industry is that no matter how talented, you will not sell without the right conditions. In almost every aspect the Japanese market ranks top amongst the world and can therefore provide the best support and environment for success. Not only do we search for existing talent, we are also committed to facilitate the growth and development of artists. For example, Chisa from GIRL NEXT DOOR, who was performing as a dancer, was chosen in honor of our 20th anniversary. She was specially admitted into our major training facility, Avex Artist Academy, on a lesson-based curriculum where she was given the opportunity to develop her vocal skills in preparation for her September debut. Our strong support system ensured a quick reliable path for their dreams to come true.
